In my many discussions with writers, it seems the perception is that agents from New York are the way to go. They are there in the thick of things and have their finger on the pulse of the publishing world. But are New York agents really better? The Andrea Brown Literary Agency is a well-known and respected agency representing the childrens genre and they are in California. Some very successful agents are also located here in my home state of Colorado. So, is there a right answer?
In a recent article on The Guide to Literary Agents blog, guest blogger, Tom Bentley, addresses this issue. It is a great article that addresses both sides of this issue and while you may not come away with a definite answer, you will definitely be enlightened.
