Writing Resources: Finding an Agent & Freelancing

Guide to Literary Agents: Chuck Sambuchino

If you are looking for an agent for your book, you should definitely be reading Chuck Sambuchino's Blog on the Guide to Literary Agents website. I met Chuck in April at my writing conference (Northern Colorado Writers Conference). He gave a great keynote speech, provided useful information and tips in his workshops and he was very personable. By the time the weekend was over, it was clear, he was a reliable and knowledgeable source in the area of literary agents and writing. I now frequent his blog and am always amazed at the amount of information he includes in it each week. This is one that should be on every writer's "favorites" list.

About Freelance Writing

If you are a freelance writer looking for work, I highly recommend signing up for the newsletter on About Freelance Writing. Anne Wayman compiles a list of current freelance jobs (usually around 55) in her newsletter and then emails it out every few days. There are jobs for bloggers, copy writers, ghost writers, screenwriters...there seems to be a little bit of everything. I find at least a couple I am interested in each time. Although I haven't gotten a job from these posts yet, I will keep trying because I know the right job/contact for me is out there.

Happy Writing!
